| unlocked speed with my laptop, 6Mbit with my tower ?
hi there today i got Comcast 6Mbit highspeed internet. on my laptop i have no speed limit and i download with 16MBit or 2MByte. On my normal computer the speed is just the normal 6MBit or 700KByte. This is when i connect the modem to each computer directly. The computers are not connected at the same time. To make it short: Why does my laptop have no limit? The only thing i did with the laptop is that i did run that setup CD from Comcast. I guess it's called installation wizard and comes with the modem. Where can i download that installation wizard ? Thanks Phyl |

| Something needs to be tweaked with your computer. Is it USB or Cat5? They have differnt NICs obvioulsy. It shouldnt matter if both devices are hooked up the same way and have the same settings.
My Desktop is the same. My laptop shows Power boost, my desktop does not. It is hooked up through USB however because the integrated NIC ( THANKS DELL!) crapped out.
Anyway, its not a magic laptop, its a desktop that needs to be tweaked and powerboost. -- CableFAQ.org/Technicians Unplugged
