Re: AppleTV has arrived

Just a quick review, as I need to get back to work

Even though iTunes will take awhile to sync everything, the AppleTV still allows you to watch/listen to everything, it just streams it, flawlessly.

Watching Movie trailers via the web, is perfect. Things are all wireless right now, so while it is coping data from an iMac, it still loaded a trailer from the web within 2 seconds.

TV shows from iTunes, are viewable on the 61" HDTV, but as we all know, not HD quality, but still very viewable.

One question before, was the screen size, can it be changed to 4:3, verses 16:9, I didn't see any settings for that, just resolution settings (480p, 720p, 1080i)

I'll report more in the next day or so.

EDIT: Also, just because you can play video's/movies in iTunes, does NOT mean AppleTV will play it. Many ripped DVD's are not showing up in Apple TV, but play fine within iTunes. Some are working ok, so there must be some setting, when I ripped them, which are different.

Yeah, I read there is no Divx support in AppleTV which is a deal killer for me. I'm going to end up just picking up a refurb Core Solo Mini from the Apple Store. it's more expensive but way more flexible in playing video.
