Re: Goodbye analog. ALMOST! ( chicago)

I'll admit that I haven't read this entire thread, but one question:

In areas where analog expanded basic is being removed, are letters being sent to all customers on the headend, or just those who have no equipment listed on the account? I have a CableCARD for my HD set, but I also have an analog TiVo plugged straight into the line and another NTSC TV in my bedroom. I know I'd certainly like a paper notification when analog goes away in my area.

Thanks.

If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

I spoke to comcast today.

1. No schedule for area (suburb) but will happen by end of 2007.
2. One new "mini" set top box is available, but otherwise just current technology.
3. Each area will get two months notice on change
4. Additional boxes are "digital outlets" $5.99 per month

Looking at my set up, I am one of the few extended basic people and pay about $70 per month with a digital box, and HD/DVR digital Box.

If I convert to Satellite, I can get everything I currently have for $55 per month, staying with comcast it will be $82.

Seems like a no brainer to go over to satellite, am I missing something here?

If you don't mind the uglyass antenna and owning your own equipment and all the downsides to that then, no.

Ugly to some, but not to all and DSS equipment is leased to new subs.
