 | [Networking] WTF ? N.E. Ohio, Brunswick, south of Cleveland
Sitting at home today about 11:10AM. Watching TV, surfing the web..all is well.
Then, digital cable box and cable modem spontaneously boot. Boot seems okay. But Router(SMC7004VWBR) will no longer pull address from modem.(moto surfboard-newer)
Tried booting modem/router--router/modem..no joy. Noticed that PC activity light on modem and the WAN light on router stay pegged (fast blink) after boot.
Router is running latest firmware.
Tried connecting PC to modem direct--WORKS
Tired reloading firmware on router..factory reset and reload firmware--no joy--router and modem will just not talk.
Been using this Router with Adelphia/TWC since like 2002 no problems ever..?? |

 | I believe there might be something going on in your area. Could I see the HFC MAC ID from your cable modem? |
|
 | Thanks..I'm at work now..I'll have to talk the wife through looking at the bottom of the modem to read me the MAC addy...lol! will post ASAP
Thanks again : ) |

If cancelled at the last minute it is VERY hard (impossible) to then notify everybody.
The migration STARTS today.

 | The ethernet port is "dead" or not showing a connection past the modem. This is unrelated to any issues there were in the area. Check the fittings on your ethernet cable and make sure it is plugged in properly. |
