Back to the original article, this AppleTV may prove pretty interesting yet, now that USB has been hacked. If the scene continues to exploit this thing and figures out how to run OSX or Windows XP on this thing, I'd be very interested in it as a HTPC

HTPCs are never as nice as the ones that just work out of the box, like this. If someone comes up with a way to wipe all its protection, something cheap that plays x264 and other stuff from the getgo that may be the next XBMC, would be really interesting. Buy it, crack it, and you don't need to worry about XP media center/other nonsense. I'd get this for my dad as a birthday present if someone gets it working like a more advanced xbox before then.

XBMC lookalike would be shweet. With USB mouse and keyboard working now though, the community progression would lean toward running OSX and through it; 'other' OSes. Not a bad deal either way... would be a kick ass PC or Mac in this form factor.
