I never use DHL, they are by far the worse, they have lost and/or damaged way to much for me.
Their drivers are not employees, but contractors.
Their vehicles are not company owned and insured, but driver owned and "insured".
DHL was great before they bought Airborne, after that it was a fast ride to the toilet, probably because Airborne was an awful company.

The same can be said for some UPS routes, I'm not sure about FedEx.

Yes, FedEx uses contractors, too. One FE driver ran off our driveway, got stuck, tore up our yard being towed out. Corporate FE said it was local contractor problem, local never did anything to repair.
I've never had a problem with UPS.

Guess it just depends on what you get on that day.
