Artist Jeff Alu.

I used the process on this page at Jeff Alu's web site to get this image: »www.animalu.com/pics/process.htm

Neat images and interesting info. However...... I like your shots with his process better. It's fun to see someone take something and put it to good use for their own artistic work.

Well, I kinda made a mess of this. I like the tip about changing the red and green channels to reduce noise; that was new to me. And the two different settings for unsharp mask made a lot of sense. But I really messed up on the dodge/burn steps---I'm very unkilled in doing this on the computer, though of course those two techniques were standard in my film days. The dodge seemed to work as I'd expected, but the burn looks uneven to me, and I'm having trouble with fine control.

Anyway, here's the try; any suggestions on using dodge and burn greatly appreciated. I'm looking at a b&w I'd made of thise last year, and I still don't know if I like this any better, but it may be just the wrong subject matter.

I absolutely LOVE his processing technique and his gallery!!!!
I love that he says he just shoots in the automatic setting and never pays attention to the time of day!
He also has the most impressive bio! Thanks for sharing!!!

you all have posted some great examples. it's really making me want to try it as well
