 | Anti-competition The Judge says that the monetary damages awarded Verizon, ... were not sufficient because they do "not prevent continued erosion of the client base of the plaintiff."
Wow, so if my competition is winning over my customers I can sue them and make them stop.
Verizon lawyers say the telco is "suffering irreparable harm" from Vonage's patent infringement, losing hundreds of thousands of customers to its competitor.
Then do something about like OFFER CHEAPER SERVICE THAN THE OVERPRICED PRODUCTS YOU HAVE!!!!! AND DROP THE DISGUISED FEES YOU STUFF INTO YOUR POCKETS!!!! I pay $228 a year for phone service, why the hell would I want to pay Verizon something like $740 (based on prices in my area) a year for the equivalent service?

 | But in this situation Vonage would paying a royalty rate for the use of Verizon's "patented" technology, plus a one time payout for damages. In this situation it's no longer actually being "ripped" off. So again i say, "anti-competition." |

I am paying about $40.00 a month to Verizon to keep One POTS line open. This gives me "unlimited local" calls only. All my Regional and LD is handled separately. This is a ridiculous level of charge. I've calculated that my cost of leaving the line open for emergency calls only would cost be a min of $18.00 p.m. with no way around it.
Someone needs to tell the judge that Verizon is the culprit and opened the door to competitors by OVERCHARGING for years. If VG did break a patent then the Judge's job is to ensure that Verizon is fairly paid for the use of that patent. Full stop. |

 | ouch
you need to file complaints with your commission.
a cell phone is a steal in comparison. why are you still using your phone line?
If you need 911, why not call the NJ commissions to mandate 911 service. Other states mandate 911 functionality on disconnected lines, cell phones might work too after disconnection. |

 | reply to heathcpe 65.79 per month for Verizon Freedom plan that costs 39.99 per month. |
