Re: [northeast] Losing internet, TV services

And just like that, internet and TV are back up - BBU is still green, but the "Power" LED on the ONT isn't flashing anymore.

Guess I'll have to live with it being like this until someone comes out on Wednesday. I'm starting to wonder if I should move POTS back over to copper (since it wasn't physically removed).

When my 610 got good power again, it would take 4-5 minutes for the internet to come back. Was it more or less than that, when everything came back? ie: If it's down @10 minutes, it could be showing battery on the BBU for 5 minutes till it drops, switch back to system on the BBU, but still not come up for another 5 minutes.

I'd try disconnecting the battery, and see what happens, but then there's no one here that would want to kill me if it went down and stayed down. I don't think I'd wait till Wednesday either.

Not sure. It just went out an hour ago, then came back up fifteen minutes ago - not paying much attention to the lights on the ONT (flashing power LED that says that it's running off the battery) since it's installed outside. BBU has always remained green and the "using battery" light hasn't turned on, so that doesn't seem like a great indicator to go by.

I'm not exactly sure how to pull the battery on this newer-looking BBU, much less get to the actual battery. Should be pretty much the same process after I figure out how to remove the housing, no? If I pulled the battery entirely would TV/internet still work?
