Re: 4.02 (XD.0) firmware for ZyWall 5 is out

Anyone notice that the device now includes a WAN2 port? What is a 3G Wireless card, anyway??

It's a wireless WAN card. In many parts of the world the wireless phone networks has been upgraded to 3G (3rd Gen mobile technology) to allow high speed Internet/data traffic. Currently in the US Cingular has some sort of 3G network speed, as well as Verizon with their EVDO... Not quite sure which one the Zywall 5 support now.

Ok, found out that the Zywall 5 currently will only support Sierra Wireless 850/860 3G Wireless WAN cards, and in the U.S. only the 860 is available (through AT&T/Cingular).
