Iphone will be huge, they are good at gadgets like this and I could see this being a huge seller. Although I think it only works if you have cingular? I want to see it offered with other services because I wouldn't switch just for that.
Apple is locked to Cingular (AT&T) for two years.
I would think that during that time no other carrier gets a look in. Besides, Verizon already turned them down once.
As for the iPhone being huge. Only time will tell. Right now the price point and the fact it's locked to the worst Mobile Phone provider in the U.S. will keep initial sales down.
Long term popularity in the U.S. will depend on agreements with other carriers.
Sprint already sell a dual CDMA/GSM (Quad Band) phone and that's what Apple will need to do. |
