Both sources are playing a lotto. I don't know of any existing cases were an infringer was busted from downloading from Newsgroup, but just a single case against EasyNews, GigaNews, etc will keep the RIAA/MPAA busy for YEARS.
Or, better yet, if you have morals, you don't steal at all but that is lost on today's entitlement generation, and apparently on this site as well. Yes, because having morals/ethics will suddenly make the worldwide problem instantly go away.
