The above thread got me thinking why I'm messing around with two email accounts, and I ought to shift to gmail exclusively. So I made gmail my default. In the first day, two emails bounced, one sent to Comcast and one to Worldnet.att.net. When I found the delivery failure notices, that gmail had sent to the spam folder, they indicated code 550 for abuse/spam. A day later, another email bounced, this time to AOL, I recovered the failure notice from spam folder, same reason (abuse/spam).
Now to choose. Do I go back to Verizon where I am unaware of any one ever sending me an email that didn't arrive, and never having my email bounce and getting occasional spam in my inbox, or do I stick with gmail where I rarely get spam in the inbox, but a significant number of my emails bounce and the failure notice goes to the spam filter? For me, mail delivery failure is unacceptable. Gmail is out, Verizon is in, until I find something better. |
