Re: What about the 2004 estimate of 18 million by 2007? Let me get this straight; Antiquated Telephone & Television has ~300,000 employees yet only 10,000 subscribers?
So does this mean that U-Hearse is so bad that even their own troops won't use it?
Or is it just not available on the side of town where their employees live?
Or maybe they redlined it so tight that its only available in the gated communities where their 10,000 VPs live?

fiberguyMy views are my own.Premium join:2005-05-20 kudos:3 | It's very VERY possible that they are not making it available to the employees at this time. It's common with providers to hold employees off due to a demand for the service. (Comcast does this often with the new services like DVR and other new stuff until enough customers have it)
HOWEVER, I HARDLY think that 10,000 subscribers is any "demand" for the service.
I just can't get excited about a fragile service which has, strangely enough, rules and restrictions of use.. 1 HD.. X amount of streams.. etc (wow.. phone? restrictions? Come to expect...)
I just don't see Yawn-Verse going too far. They will pick up a few of the walking wounded cable jumpers.. don't think any measurable amount of satellite customers will bail.. I wish Ed all the luck with is weak-verse service so that he gets the best retirement bonus he can from the consumer. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-reitchous and lazy ... those who also never take the time to point out a good fortune when the opportunity presents itself. | Actually Comcast does allow testing by employees of new products prior to launch. |

TESTING and HAVING are two different things. Let me expand on your point.. Comcast allows employees to test and when the testing is over they SOMETIMES call the services back such as they did the DVRs in some markets. (The employee could have a DVR for beta test, but when they launched, the DVRs were called back) In this region, employees who tried to get a DVR on their account would find themselves able to keep them, as non-employees.. it was a swift firing.
Thanks for your input though. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-reitchous and lazy ... those who also never take the time to point out a good fortune when the opportunity presents itself. It says a lot about one's moral character." - Unknown |

The problem is that it was promised to be delivered and paid for years ago. Are they expecting "atta boys" for hitting 10,000 users in 2007?!!?!
I'd like to see when they told the government they were going to hit 10,000 users back in 1996 when the government agreed to let them start taxing consumers out the ass in order to fund this upgrade. I thought I read years ago (but I havent been able to find it again since) that the telcos promised to have broadband to the home to 80% of the houses countrywide prior to 2004. But sure AT&T, congratulations on 10,000 customers in 2007. Somebody get a ribbon anmd a gold star. |
