Re: Sprint, WTF are u doing!

??? Sprint's network is pretty darn small... most of their US network is comprised of roaming.

Haha, that is not all Sprint's network.

That is Sprint's network + all their roaming providers!

The first map looks just like Sprint's own CDMA network coverage.

Even if that map was the right one.. so? One can also say that this map is a population map. They have all the major population centers of the country. One could say they stay true and lean and provide service where it matters and not to the 1 horse towns.

When you look at the other's maps, you think the blobs of color equal a company owned tower? or one they have roaming agreements with as well where they include your available calling area?

At least Sprint doesn't cut you off for roaming too much like the others have. Cingular/american thieves & thugs, say one thing, mean another. Spring - upfront. So, if sprint is doing it wrong and loosing customers, then I'd rather be with the loosing ship. Just shows that most Americans don't care about the truth, rather, they want to be fed what they want to hear even if it's not true. For that reason alone, my attitude will never change.

That link was from the same page
Covering roaming partners in a dotted green as 'unknown signal' only when zoomed down to the street level is a little deceptive.

And my personal experience with Sprint coverage maps is that they took a page from the "FCC Broadband availability" book. If you can get a signal, even a weak one, anywhere in a given zip code, then they call that area covered.

The western Kansas coverage is not technically theirs. It is through the Sprint roaming alliance. 2 local carriers cover that area for Sprint.

Probably not, but the cattle might.

Seriously though, you might be surprised how many farmers are using cell phones. There are areas it is miles between houses, and a cell phone is the only communication.

You might also consider that most other providers are in the same boat. Here, Verizon Wireless has fantastic coverage - but none of it is on their own towers.

MCI's failure of a venture into wireless was entirely Sprint's network.
