Type of Memory to purchase for MBP

Hi all, I have a MBP w/1GB DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz in bank 1. Bank 0 is empty.

I need to purchase additional memory to run parallels, not installed yet, without having to worry about my system running slow. What brand stick(s) and where can I purchase it that will be compatible with what I currently have. TIA.

Damn they're cheap now.. When I got my first one it was 89 dollars, when I got my second one it was 100 dollars.

I just purchased and installed the memory that Thinkdiff See Profile linked. Crisp, clean, no caffeine. Works like a charm with Parallels and Boot Camp

Thanks for the link! I just purchased this MBP in Jan and was thinking the stick of memory would cost $150.00 or more. This was a pleasant surprise. My MBP will hold up to 3GB of memory. Would my installing a 2GB stick play havoc with the already installed 1GB. I am also concerned about the heat this much memory would generate. I am not planning on running parallels much but I do need some windows programs every now and then. TIA

2GB would work fine.. And I've never heard of heat problems from memory before.

Here is the cheapest 2GB stick I could find... Not very cheap at all

Ouch ... you are right! Not cheap at all .... I think the 1GB upgrade would do for my parallels usage after all. Thanxs for the advise, much appreciated.
