Last year we had Hooded Merganser in our pond, this year these Wood Duck's have decided to pay us a visit. These are very rare ducks in our area, and this is the first time I have ever seen them. This is about as close as they would let me get. If I have time next weekend I might set up a blind closer to the water and wait for them to return. Also tossed in a Red-winged Blackbird shot. I love how these guys balance on the cat-tails.
