1 edit | reply to Trel Well I know that some ISP's and mail servers allow you to add a backup e-mail address just in case you: 1) Forget your password etc. So he might have accidently set your e-mail as the backup??? Maybe he has a gmail account and forgot to add the USA into the backup e-mail? Ask him to check his Godaddy settings. |

1 edit | reply to Trel Its highly unlikely almost impossible. That would mean gmail was hacking into peoples email boxes. They need authentication so that means not only would gmail need the users name it would also need the password to get their email. Email servers would also have to have their own ip and there is too many credentials that would need to be the same for you to get his email. Think about the security HAZARD that would be if people could accidentally receive each others email whether its from gmail or any other service. It has to be some sort of setting that he did which wasn't configured properly (user error most likely). And your sure this isnt some sort of phishing email designed to catch people right?
To tell you the truth ive never heard of this ever happening especially for public mail servers. That is something that would make headline news... Occasionally you might have an issue with internal LAN mail servers if they were setup incorrectly, but even then the chances are slim. |

| reply to Trel I already knew that blah.blah@gmail.com was treated as blahblah@gmail.com
but we have two different names, his is netforceusa and I'm netforce. That'a pretty big difference as far as delivery. -- /chown -R us:us /yourbase |

1 edit | reply to Ryan said by Ryan :I wouldnt say its a gmail issue because your getting his emails. I would have him contact godaddy or have him check his settings. It's already been established from the person using "netforceusa" that GoDaddy has his correct gmail address.
That would leave gmail as the culprit, somehow delivering his email to someone with a similar email address.
Just another reason why I would never use gmail for anything important.

| reply to Name Game I already had the same problem two months ago. I have an old Gmail account with short Username (6 characters), and for a while I received many personals e-mails from another person. That person told me he was sure that "my ID" belongs to another. I wrote to the Gmail Headquarters and 1 week later they reply to me they have changed the ID of the other customer. Incredible but true. How can you have 2 identical ID ? There is no dot on my ID.
