Under IPV4 there are reserved/non-routable address ranges eg 192.168.n.n, Is there such a thing in IPV6.

Yah sort of... They have something they call link-local addressing which routers are not suppose to pass. The addresses start with fe80. Do a google for IPv6 Link-Local addressing and you get plenty to read.
