In the almost 2 decades that I've been computing, I've never been infected with a virus, never had my system compromised, never been the victim of an exploit and never had a problem with the updates. No, I'm not living in a bubble either, I work for an ISP so I'm on the net a tremendous amount of time visiting a myriad of web sites, both from home and work. Well, this update did dick with my webcam until I rebooted then it was fine and dandy but other than that, nothing.

Its safe to say that not updating is more dangerous than updating thats for sure.

Well join the club, I have Windows 2000 and most of my apps I use often are working normally as well, I guess it depends on a few measures of some apps, but I guess our systems are maybe just different if that seems like a good answer? |
