They are almost always able to structure the settlements so that they end up winning in the end.  If Verizon were to be sued over this "unlimited" BS, the settlement would probably have a few hundred million in cash going to the lawyers, and a bunch of coupons for discounts on future Verizon service going to the class members.  <br><br>The "costs" of these coupons will be written off as business expenses, and the members of the class would have to pay Verizon more money to realize the benefit of these things.<br><br>A real punishment would have been government action against Verizon for false advertising.  If heavy fines resulted from such action, then it would force Verizon to raise its rates, and make it a less attractive wireless broadband solution for potential customers.<br><SMALL>--<br>Only SHATNER is Kirk.</SMALL>]]></description>
