| reply to Jesse2 Re: [FireFox] Tweaking Firefox for Fun & Speed
The user.js should have changed the settings and added ones that did not exist so if there is any typo in the user.js you made that would cause it not to transfer the settings.
I know I made a typo in the first set but could not edit it but my last tweak I posted has no typos that I am aware of.
»Re: [FireFox] Tweak Updated
You can also create the tweaks through about:config by right-clicking and selecting New boolean, String, or Integer depending on which line of code you are trying to create. It would be faster to use the one I linked about though. -- "Your choice is simple, join us and live in peace or pursue your current course and face obliteration". |

@pacbell.net | reply to Grail Knight Ive read setting network.dns.disableIPv6 to true can speed up page loading.
What do you think? Worthy to be included in your tweaks?
and btw I like your tweaks. They work well. |

This is the main tweak site and has the basics. My tweak settings are after much trial, error, and testing.

| As long as your tweaks are saved in user.js no you don't have to. However you should backup that file in your profile, because if you have rebuild your profile you'll need to create the file again and place the tweaks in there, or copy it from backup. -- "If it ain't broke don't fix it." |

| reply to Grail Knight Big improvement even while running Mcafee Security bloatware. Disable JavaScript and it really flies. Even a HQ image site that was normally slow to open and navigate is much faster now.
Thanks.
I noticed one problem that seems to be Java related. While downloading a RapidShare(sucks) file linked from another site. I was waiting in queue for the file to become available whilst navigating the original site and the RS Java app froze. I exited FF and had to force Java to close with task manager. While in the task manager I saw that FF was still running even though I had closed it. Again I forced FF to close and everything was back to normal. It has happened twice so far.
Link to file that caused it, »forums.superiorpics.com/ubbthrea···56036959
Note: It only happens when I keep the RapidShare tab open in queue while navigating the original site. If just wait for the queue it doesn't happen. -- Prevent Malware |

| Your welcome.
The tweaks themselves should not effect java but you could try setting both pipelining tweaks to false and try RapidShare again.
I do not care for that site myself. -- We must look for consistency. Where there is want of it we must suspect deception. |

Wow! Even Imageshack another slow loading image site is lightning fast now.
