| Moving to Cincy
I might be moving to Cincy if I get this job I am interviewing for, I was wondering what the deal with Cincinnati Bell is? I have 6/768 with AT&T in Chicago for 29.99/mo. From what I can tell CB has only 3mb max down but like 900 upload, but some people are talking about 6mb upgrades?
Should I just get Road Runner?
Thanks for any advice. |

Road Runner has faster download speed. |

@rr.com | reply to bsc depends on what part of cincinnati you are moving to. Recently most of cincy and dayton and NKy was at 3megs and a few at 5+, but it has flip-flopped and most are now at 5meg and few at 3. my current speed is around 4.5 down and .6 up |

| reply to bsc Road Runner is upgrading and many getting 15Mbps download, about three times that of ZT's "upgraded" speed. I would avoid ZT. Had it, but got rid of it last August. CBT has so much debt from their Broadwing venture that they simple cannot invest in the infrastructure like TW. Plus, because of the twisted pair cable, it is vulnerable to noise from outside sources that slow down or knockout the service - like from ham or cb radio. Not a problem with cable internet since cable is shielded.
I disagree with other observation on Newsgroups. Bell has always had problems with newsgroups and used a third party to provide the service when I was on ZT. Retention on RR is going back months and months on most newsgroups. Never had that with ZT. -- Atheists swear there is no Heaven, but pray there isn't a Hell. |
