DSL providers should sue sue sue

The problem for all too many of us is not the restrictions of the DSL providers but those of the telcos. I am within distance by estimates but out of distance according to Ameritech. (Not who I would choose for DSL or for anything else given a choice.)

How long is my line distance to the CO? Ameritech tells me they don't know. Estimates from every other source have me well within range.

Sue 'em under the provisions of the telecommunications act that is supposed to gaurantee open access to the lines.

Ditto.. Ditto.. Ditto
Ameritech's distance reported was over 2500 ft. difference from that of our potential ISP and another independent CO locater.

the CLEC's are suing and the bells are getting tighter with their lines, but remember the distances that an ISP or CO locator gives you is just an ESTIMATE. there is always excesive loop legnth.
