A single USB port puts out less power than what the radio/modem can utilize for the RF signal, so one cable that splits off is only used to draw extra power from the other port, and can improve speeds in some situations.

House Springs, MO		 Ok, well on a Laptop i doubt it get's more power with both cables, but it's nice to kn0w, BTW: Does the Linksys router have more power to work in a more rual setting at a SOHO?
