Consolidation?

Google's purchases seem to be part of a calculated plan to become the source of advertising, market and content on the net.

Google's corporate mantra has always favored free content financed by advertising. These recent purchases seem a logical extension of the mantra. Is that a good or bad thing? Who knows.
