I download ALL my tv shows via torrents. Though I still pay for cable TV, I have every right to time/space/format shift my shows in any manner I see fit. I don't need to 'stream real time', but I do need to time shift. I don't need true HD content, for me, Divx is fine. The fact of the matter is that the technology exists TODAY to allow you to do 'broadband' TV. But the megacorps are too greedy/control freaks to recognize it. -- Stick it to the MAN. Support your local torrent sites. Proudly providing 100mb of upstream for all your TV, Movie, and MP3 needs. |

1 edit | That's not really broadband TV per se, but more so a model of downloading content. In my mind, broadband TV would entail me going to a site and "tuning" to a "channel" and content is immediately available and playing...or better yet, a STB connected to my network and my TV. Your scenario would be more akin to VOD, which would be a nice value-added feature for the IPTV craze. |
