Anyone who does not realize that everything here on Earth is "all connected" and every action has an effect on some other process is doomed to suffer the outcome of their own ignorance.

You're right.. we don't have the power to control or influence the path of nature.. just like when animals start to go extinct.. or that we over build in nature areas and animals start to attack humans. Or how oil spills in the ocean and over farming certain species have no effect on the path of nature.
You are correct that we can't stop nature from getting warmer.. we can't even stop if from getting colder.. there are things we can't. We CAN punch holes in the ozone.. that's a fact.. and we've done it in some areas.. very few people try to dispute that. THAT has an effect on nature...
To say we have absolutely NO ability to control or influence nature is a bit off because we do in some cases. As Guitarzan said about, everything is connected in some way.. if you screw with one thing too much, you throw off others. If we did something to loose the bees, then 1/3 of the crops that depend on it suffers. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-reitchous and lazy ... those who also never take the time to point out a good fortune when the opportunity presents itself. | Re: Whatever it is .... a) Lots of animals have gone extinct, most of them long before humans were here. It happens, and probably will happen to us some day, since we're part of nature.
b) Ozone holes happen, they've been wandering around Australia and Antarctica for eons. Burning natural fossil fuels that nature left here for us has its effects, for sure, but it's still part of nature.
c) The crops will suffer even if it wasn't "we" who did something to chase off the bees (maybe they got tired of humans and bears stealing their honey, and went on strike -- just like the whales did back in the 1800s when we were harvesting them for their oil).
Sort of a fatalist argument, I know, but shit does happen, and if it makes some people feel better to drive their hybrids and throw solar panels on their house, godspeed to them (although a very tiny number of people actually walk the environmentalist walk that they talk.) When a few scientists go off half cocked and start calling for regulations that impact the rest of us, then I'm going to get grouchy.

However, it IS worth discussing - that's what society does. (Or should do) For every crack pot that feels something is wrong, you have some other crack pot, usually the rich ones not willing to let go of any money as their reason, claiming 'there is nothing wrong' with out even looking at anything more than a headline. It works both ways.
The one thing I will say, however, that I believe to be true, is that human beings (in general) are the worst virus/plague that does happen to this planet. It's a slang saying, but in part it's true.
You stated that our burning of fossil fuels is part of nature.. I'd have to disagree.. it's not. If that were true, then ANYTHING that happens is nature, including setting off atom and nuclear bombs too.
Something are just reckless and not nature. I normally DO believe that we are not all mighty enough to influence nature, but in fact we are. We ARE powerful enough to influence nature enough that we can harm ourselves.. and we do. THAT has been proven. We destroy our own air quality and we do in fact punch holes in the ozone layers which does hurt US. It's not "nature" for mankind pumping gas in a car and taking a 400 mile road trip.. it's not nature to have a factory pumping crap into the air in droves.
Do I believe that cell phones are killin' off the bees? Do I think it's possible or not? All of that is still data waiting to be seen. It could be possible or it could be misguided research. We don't know yet.. but I'm also not willing to dismiss it yet. We know it IS happening, but why? At least someone is looking at one possibility. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-reitchous and lazy ... those who also never take the time to point out a good fortune when the opportunity presents itself. Well the part we can control is the part we sometimes destroy through ignorance. Chop down the rain forests and you have cause and effect. Pave over all available land with concrete and you eliminate or hinder the ability for groundwater to be returned to the ecosystem/underground aquifers....and the list goes on and on. So we need to "conform" to mother nature's rules, not try to control her. But I do understand your point though there is room for a happy balance.
