As a token of good will, Time Warner is deploying a fiber network in the two buildings that make up Los Angeles City Hall
That will fix it...just keep the town officials happy, fastest way to make it go away.....

I wouldn't doubt there's some "benefits" being tossed from Time Warner to the franchise officials, however..... Adelphia was a piss poor company to begin with. This is coming from a Comcast employee, not TWC. Comcast had a hell of a struggle in just my area alone, trying to get peoples internet right. Although I'm not in the data center, I know the first 3 months of our aquisition was horrible. Mind you, this is before any major changes were made. Lets just say we didn't change anything in the system, we just tried to take them off their sorry ass 4 meg connection, and discovered that they took absolutely no care of their "powerlink" service. Much of the CMTS load balancing settings were screwed, but to make matters worse, Adelphia LITERALLY had JUST ENOUGH OC3's to the headend to BARELY keep their 4 meg customers running. We had to run 6 more OC3's, as well as a fiber link from Jacksonville FL to Brunswick GA and Yulee FL to pipe over some more overhead. The headend had no form, plan, or promise for VoIP phone service, nor any of the necessary software for VOD services to run on their box controllers, nor did the boxes the customers have are up to date with software. They ran it into the ground. I wouldn't doubt they had more then their hands full.

Adelphia customers, just be glad you have A DIFFERENT cable company. Since the two largest cable companies in the nation just bought your previous company, and possibly raised rates, don't freak out, it will get MUCH better, be it Comcast, or Time Warner, it honestly IS better than Adelphia swallowing your money, and not applying it to nothing but their pockets. Sadly, Adelphia's demise did lose alot of jobs for people, but truthfully, from everything I've heard, many of the folks there wern't too pleasant, or wern't in America. I know it doesn't apply to all their employee's, so don't blast me, but many customers seem happy yo have Comcast, and people can't stop asking when we will offer phone, second most asked question is when we will offer powerboost.

Now bash me if you will, but I did try to address this neutrally by noting my personal experiences. I can imagine the NIGHTMARE those poor LA call center folks are enduring, especially from rich people (who thinks their money means MUCH more).
