If people are constantly cutting in front of you then maybe it's time to change to the right and let faster vehicle by Precisely what I was going to say. Yes, it will probably encourage more people to pull in front of you, but it beats the hell out of an at-fault accident because you were tailgating to prevent someone from moving in front of you.
MFFY's(Me First, F*** You) are the worst drivers and are the ones that cause the most accidents.
said by pfqdrx:It doesn't matter which lane, if you leave a large braking zone in front of you, someone will take it as their area to pass you. This usually occurs just before getting to an exit ramp. If you want to mess with them, speed up, block them from passing and make them go to the next exit and turn around. Next time, they'll get in line behind you. This is the perfect example of a MFFY. It's better to be that person that lets people in front of them, then to be the one that tries to block the lane from someone who wants in. That's called being a road hog and is completely unacceptable. You have to swallow your pride and realize that the person trying to cut you off to get to an off-ramp is a jackass who feels the road is his playground. Don't stoop to their level, be courteous and you'll prevent collisions.
It's called defensive driving, and we would all be in better shape if everyone would practice it. | | Mr DenPremium join:2006-10-17 Elyria, OH | reply to 81399672 You are missing the point (and I guess I never specified), I was in the right hand lane. | | Reviews:

| reply to Michieru2 What a bit of bad luck you are having lately. Hope things get better for you soon. Seems like you are relatively OK after the crash but try to get some rest, the crash is traumatic just the same w/out extensive injuries. | | Michieru2zzz zzz zzzPremium join:2005-01-28 Miami, FL | I am fine, I am just a bit hurt financially. It's a good thing I had a savings account that I use for emergencies, without it I would not have been able to pay the bills this month.
I guess we can call it luck but it's really about the choices you make, and I did some before I even got into the car. I was already sick pretty much making me drive impaired, and it was morning and I was still a bit sleepy.
I take more than double the time to do a turn now and sometimes will skip a green light just for the sake of avoiding an accident. The road is not mine, and sometimes I let people cut in front of me even if they are idiots for trying to go into a closed lane only to have themselves merge right back.
Although I am far less aggressive, when it comes to turns I have a problem with patience, so I try to see when I can pass by sticking the front of the car slowly into the lane.
This practice has costed me dearly, and though I feel it's wrong to give someone two problem's at once, I was not cautious and I caused the accident.
In Florida nobody has the right of way so you must always proceed with caution, but next time I will think twice before trying to cross without good or better said complete visibility.
Because I accepted the fact from almost the very start, I don't have to suffer or worry about the crash because I know the other guy is alright. Money and property can be recovered, if you work hard you can earn as much money as you can. But no matter how hard you work you cannot bring someone's life back.
Thanks for your support but now I am just looking at this as life's lessons. -- Duct tape, saving lives since 1942. | |
