I work in the Qwest Community Developer group where we work with new single family home developments exclusively. Since we've started offering speeds higher than 1.5M about 3 years ago the take rate for our higher tier is less than 20%.
The majority of people in these new developments, the wealthy, as stated earlier don't have the need for more than that at this point. It's not as if our premiere tier is overpriced either at $34.99 per month. Obviously those of us on this forum are bandwidth happy and want as much as we can get our hands on, but don't be foolish enough to think that we're even close to being the majority.
Even at the FTTH deployment we have in Utah where customers 5M service is paid for as part of their HOA dues. We have a 10% take rate for the 10M which is $14.99 more a month. |
