| reply to jeemo I saw the same from Arlington, VA last night. Could not reach pair.com, my mail server there and a number of other websites while others came up okay.
Seems to be normal now, but have been experiencing problems with packet loss through Comcast in recent weeks, sometimes unable to get any sites to load for a while. |

| reply to Loker Appears that the majority of the sites I had issues with transversed Level 3 Communications in traceroutes. Other customers at my work (I'm in the Verizon NOC) are now reporting issues similar to what I had at home last night, if we figure out who's fault this is I'll post it here. |

Losing money by the minute Thanks Comcast. I am guessing it was not a business account? If it wasn't you probably should not be complaining...
No issues here all night but glad to see its back up and running for everyone who had issues. -- "While preceding your entrance with a grenade is a good tactic in Quake, it can lead to problems if attempted at work." -- C Hacking |

| reply to jacktaw I believe this was a problem occurring between Comcast's AT&T center in Dallas and the data center "The Planet", also located in Dallas. This information is pieced together through conversations with Comcast and The Planet, neither of which were too forthcoming. At least, from here in Washington state, the only sites I was having problems with were all located on servers housed at The Planet. A Comcast tech said the problem was in Dallas. When I mentioned The Planet, he said yes - it appeared to be between the two centers. However, Pair and PHP.net are not housed there, and my times sync with everyone else's as far as when this began and when service was restored, so it is still a puzzle. |

| reply to vortex2050 This is definitely on a major scale. I'm in Arlington, VA and haven't been able to connect to many sites including my client servers at Bluehost.com since 4pm this afternoon. Seeing that they've messed up connectivity to MYSPACE and FLICKR, I'm sure this is Comcast's top priority. I called a tech out on this earlier and got him to somewhat confess that they knew about the problem after first acting really puzzled and trying to walk me through his super long BS trouble-shooting list. Don't waste my time Comcast!!! Admit when you've f'd up. |

| reply to vortex2050 said by vortex2050 :I tried bouncing off a few proxies, was still very problematic... Yeah, I (re-)set up a proxy server for myself. One of the advantages of owning a hosting company Luckily, it's limited to only port 80 traffic, so it's not getting in the way of anything else. |
