| Watch Your April Bill Closely! Just an FYI... Examine your April Verizon FiOS TV bill very closely. Mine was almost twice what it normally is. When I called the billing folks, they explained that VZ switched billing systems and was doing a "catch up" which billed an additional half month. So now instead of being paid up a month in advance, I'm paid up 1.5 months. That makes no sense, does it? The real kicker was they went back and billed me for February AGAIN! They gladly removed that, but I must say that VZ billing has incorrect 4 of the 5 months we've had FiOS service.
I think I'm getting close to the point where the outstanding PQ no longer carries an advantage given the hassles we've dealt with. It seems that at least once a month I am on the phone bitching at the customer service reps about billing or service problems. I guess I'll go calm down now.

| Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! You think you've got problems. I dropped FiOS TV when I moved at the end of January and although everything was OK for February and April they decided to charge me for TV in March. My account is flagged as needing a refund but apparently they can't do anything until the new billing system is fully operational. | |

| Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! I had the same issue too. I called them a few days ago because the statement said I was billed for a 'partial month' based on changes I made to my service....but of course I made no changes.
I called and they gave me the 'billing in advance' excuse and said when I cancel my service someday that they will owe me a refund.
It makes no sense. Obviously if I order PPV they can't bill me in advance for that...just sounds like a move to help their cash flow.

The bill is auto-paid by credit card so they took the money before I spotted the problem. Perhaps I should have their debt to me put on their credit report.

| My bill came yesterday and it was about $55 more. I compared it to last month and discovered that I was paying for about six weeks of tv instead of four. If I compare billing dates, it looks like last month they were all three (TV, Internet,Phone) on three different cycles. With this bill they have put the TV and phone on the same cycle (well almost. One runs 4/9-5/10, one runs 4/9-5/9)but the internet is still on a different cycle by about six days. I expect sometime in the future they will catch it up and I will get a bill for five weeks of Internet service.
The way I figure it I am not really paying 1 1/2 months in advance, I am just paying my TV bill six weeks in advance for this first cycle, and after that it will be only a month in advance. I don't really have a big problem with it as all of the charges were correct. But I think they should have at least sent some type of an explination with the bill so yoyu don't have to go fishing around for the details.
But then again, this is Verizon. Good product, bad service. Comcast that I used to have: Bad product/bad service. So I still come out ahead.

| This happened to me as well. I got charged for current month and next month. Talk about crap timing because my wife is without work. I called and asked why they did not give any advance warning. I explained my situation to the FSC and she gladly is going to let me pay half of the Extra month of TV next month and the other half the following. My wife has found a job since so this should make it easier.
I was not billed twice for Feb like previous poster.

| Same deal here. I was issued all these mysterious credits back in Oct-Dec 06. So much so, that they sent us a January bill with $0 due. So we didn't pay anything (a mistake). They they found their mistake & reversed all their credits.
They bill in advance, so my February bill had ~$100 from the mystery-credits, $100 from regular-charges from January, and the normal amnt for February. Summary: My bill in February was ~$335. I called an pitched a fit, until they showed me they were actually right, and I did owe then $335.
Verizon's system shouldn't be so idodic to produce so many credits that erase 1 months' worth of invoce, only to turn around and reverse all the credits, and making you pay a ton more on the next billing period.

| You should call the PSC. They will open a case with the information you described and have it sent to an "escalation" rep. Things will happen favorably from there. I've experienced the same situation and yet I love the product. It's a joke that the billing can't be of the same quality. | |

| I got my bill on saturday and I was charged for the 8 days in March from when TV service was installed and the entire month of April. I have one bill for the Fios bundle and my cell phone as well. Everything on the bill was correct. The bundle credits came through correctly. No problems. | |

| Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! I'm seeing something different. I have phone, internet, and tv on one bill. I got signed up for tv just two weeks ago - 4/10. My bill is showing just one billing cycle for tv, and here are the dates of service I'm seeing on my bill for each:
Phone: 4/15 - 5/14
Internet: 4/10 - 5/9
TV: 4/10 - 5/9
All on the same bill, but with two different billing cycles. I wonder what will happen in my May bill (since this is my first month as a FiOS TV customer), but with this bill I see nothing amiss - the totals I see correspond to the monthly rate for each service. And I got a pleasant surprise - I was a little concerned about the franchise fee. Some townships around here have pretty high fees. The total for taxes (sales tax and franchise fee) for TV for me was $4.57. I fully expected it to be twice that.

| Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! Man, What is it with companies and billing lately?
First, Sprint tries to charge me $50 on my cell phone bill for something I didn't use. "Oh, yes, that's an error, we'll credit you $50 immediately".
And now, I finally got to view my latest VZ bill online. For now the 3rd month in a row, NONE of my monthly discounts are there - including the $10 discount I got signed up for last month for having 3 services.
Why is it so hard for their billing system to set up recurring monthly discounts? I don't get it. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!"

| Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! I think I just got hit with this month and a half stuff.
In this month's bill there is an extra charge for "Verizon FiOS TV Additions and Changes to Service". There's an extra charge for my TV plan, add-ons and STB/DVR rentals. But the thing is that it is not half the original charge. It's 36.6% of the original TV charge (exactly 36.6% of every TV line item).

| My first phone bill arrived (no TV or internet on it) and not only were my charges pro-rated but I was also billed for a non-existant phone line that I had cancelled several years ago. I had even received a phone call from the CSR after I had placed my order when I resumed my Verizon phone service as to whether or not I had wanted to continue the other line and I told her it had been cancelled some time back. | |

1 edit | Re: Watch Your April Bill Closely! I got the same thing and called Verizon. I was told that my bundle had different bill cycles and this was to aligned them so the cut-off date would be the same on all services. Not really a big deal but I was a little surprised. Oh, and they said there had been an enclosed flyer in a previous bill that this was coming. Oh well, it's paid and gone so things are good again in FIOSville.
