I see some posts mentioning that a phone call was not being made.
I did not see anything about if it was a deaf couple?
I am along one of those many deaf people who has a blackberry that has instant communication in a text form. Email, SMS, IM (Ramble), and IP-Relay (along with other 3rd party software) are available for a deaf person to use while in mobile.
I had a similar thing that happened. Fortunately, I am married. Next day, it was resolved after the news broke out and I could prove that I was not ignoring my wife's requests to come and pick her up on that evening.
Sure, she got home after a friend dropped her off and threw her temper at me...along with accusing me of deleting her emails when I tried to show that it never appeared on my BB. Next morning, she gave me beyond an apology.
