Stupid.....

If a phone sucks, blame the manufacturer. Plain and simple. It is not that difficult to tell if your problems have to do with the phone or the service.

The problem is, that the providers lock the phone to you. So if you DO get a 'lemon' phone, the provider sold you that lemon, and you should be able to get out of the contract. I personally despise contracts, which is why I only use prepaid now. If the US would get off it's ass, and use SIM cards, like the rest of the world, the CONSUMER would have a LOT more choices, and would get a LOT better pricing.\

We do use SIM cards in this country (T-Mobile, Cingular (the new ATT)) and the phones are still locked to a provider.

T-Mobile will give you an unlock code every 60 or 90 days.
