Re: [UD] All Good Things Come To An End...

UD will be missed, but no time to hang my head down. We are still a team and many worthy causes cures can still be found out there.

So if no one minds how about a TSC Crunchathon? (On a permanent basis)

"Wow" is right! This does come as quite a surprise, and I am sad to see the cancer project go. However, it was nice to be a part of it while it lasted.

I hope that another cancer project can be found by this great team. Until then, I am glad that TSC is here to help alleviate the need to crunch!

All switched over save for the computer that my in-laws have. It was good to check out the stats on the TSC page and see so many people listed as new.

Edit : Though... WOW! I have 4.4 Million points for UD. I guess I really stopped thinking about just how many points I'd accumulated. The good thing, though, is that now some of my more powerful crunchers are on TSC. So, hopefully I won't fall too far behind as people start joining the TSC fray.

I've rather liked the fact that there hasn't been anyone showing up in my immenent threats list for a while. I'm gonna have to work hard to keep it that way.

Ironically I just uninstalled the program from my machine after it got infected with a virus. I was going to put it back on, but read this.

Hmm...

I have a AGP x1650 Pro I can put into the UD machine and run Folding@Home. Got to swap out the PSU as well for it, but no biggie.

Well, I wasn't expecting this. I'm glad I was able to contribute my little bit.

I'll be switching over to TSC.

How unfortunate, I'm going to miss my blue pill
I'm gonna miss this guy as well. He's become something of an "old friend".

I guess George was right: "All things must pass"...

But on the bright side, I'll be installing TSC on all of my machines today.
Hey, this "cruching for a cure" stuff is adictive!

So much for the promised UD beta release.

A sad day for those of us who ran UD, and a special "thank you" to everyone who contributed.

The link is good and the application works providing you have the msinet.ocx file. I have added the zip file which I have included this file. Seems not all machines have this installed. Atleast mine didn't .

You can either extract the msinet.ocx to the same directory you extract the stats sniffer or you can put the ocx file in c:/windows/system or c:windows/system32

But I digress from the original sad news, sorry.

I just let my laptop finish up the unit it was working on. Going to uninstall it as well and place TSC on it.

Well it sure pains me to have to remove UD from my systems. I have been crunching with UD for over 5 years now and am surely going to miss having it running on my systems. I currently have had it running on only 2 systems and am now about to uninstall it on the slowest one. I have a WU going on this system now which will be the final one.

One thing I plan to do is make a screenie of the final results on my agents before removing them. Just want to do that for posterity

This is really sad. Then again, I haven't been running UD for a few weeks now because my HD crashed.

I think I might give Folding@Home a try.

Sadly, one door closes, but new doors open new opportunities and possibilities, and each of us will move forward in a way suitable and appropriate for them.Families are about going through changes, and so is life.I shall wipe my tears and follow a 'new' course and encourage everyone to do likewise,in his or her own way.
