| COMCAST Changes channel lineup, no information? It seems comcast has, for about the 10th time, decided to change channels around. Problem is, tvguide.com does NOT show the changes in the channel lineup.
Get this:Even comcast's website lineup has the OLD channel lineup listed?
I even used comcast's search engine for info on the channel lineup changes, nothing found.
Anyone know WHERE I can find a new list of channels for comcast non-digital cable tv in Chattanooga?
thanks |

Also, why wouldn't they have the channel list on their own website?
Also, what happens to those who don't read the newspaper or frequently go to the chattanoogan.com website? I think COMCRAP is assuming a lot from it's customer.
They are a monopoly in this city. They know this. They don't care because no one will make them care.
This is a fine example of why monopolies are bad and illegal.
30+ years and this city cannot manage to get another cable company?
I'm going to call and ask them to "read me" every channel over the phone. I really will enjoy their reaction when I ask them to do this.
Also, the TVGUIDE channel moved and even IT doesn't have the correct channel line-up???
This is stupid. |

goober22Resident Duh-Huh Member join:2001-12-28 Panama City, FL | Q: What is STB? A: Settop Box
Q: Also, why wouldn't they have the channel list on their own website? A: My area has only been updated once this year. It still shows InHD2 in the lineup.
Q: Also, what happens to those who don't read the newspaper A: My area just started putting items in the newspaper this year. Prior we never received any notices, other than when the bill arrived. Channels just showed up or disappeared.
Q: 30+ years and this city cannot manage to get another cable company? A: We picked up a 2nd Co 7 years ago (Knology). It has not changed how Comcast operates here. I currently have Knology and find them to have more depth although Comcast will be finally adding NatGeoHD, A&E-HD next month and dropping 2 west coast feeds while moving 3 channles off analog. We'll still have 17 west coast feeds however. Why they don't just drop them all, I don't know. We have VOD here. We just got UHD & ESPN2HD added last month but Knology has had them for almost a year here. We also have MediaCom serving some outlying areas - but again, Comcast still does not move swiftly here. -- Certified Jenius! |

| reply to patspub I love the quote from that story.
"We only have access to so much broadband".
WHAT? Lol....f'ing hilarious.
I think they may have meant bandwidth.
Also, they claim they can fit 4 HD's in 1 analog spot. I thought it was only 2? -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

| I am still ANGRY, I mean REALLY ANGRY at Comcrap. I've literally searched the WEB, COMCAST's website, all my local Tv Channel's Websites, Newsgroups and Forums..I found no channel listing except the one that Does Not Apply to NOW.
If I had another choice in TV/NET, I would drop ComCrap in 1 second. I hate them so very very much.
If I were a district manager in charge of this area and knew we where adding and deleting some channels, I would FLOOD the website and local media with the new channel lineup. Then I would FLOOD the local media a Second time to make sure everyone who needed to know did know.
I guess their is nothing I can do, as usual nothing I can do with comcast. Just accept it like some slave.
Oh well. |

TV is not some essential piece of life like you seem to be making it out to be. FLOODING the local media?..and TWICE at that? Good lord. I can see it now, Top stories at 6 "Comcast moves TV Guide to channel 4 and CSPAN 2 is now offered...oh yea, there was some terrorist attack as well.." Law requires a notice to be posted, which is typically done in the paper. TW does it I believe every 3rd Wed. of the month. While I believe Comcast probably did that, if they didnt, maybe then you could have a gripe. It also may not be on there website because they arent done changing channels around yet, and are unsure what the final product will be? |

I guess what I am trying to say an no one seems to understand yet is that I keep up with the news. I watch the news every day and read the newspapers. IF I DIDN'T SEE the announcement or new "lineup" then who did?
As for cancellation. I said I would if I had another choice. DSL, which I hear sucks in this city, is looking more like an option. Problem is, I will likely be the only one to leave comcrap and they wouldn't care or change the way they do business. It would take more than 5,000 people leaving for the same reason for comcrap to change it's ways and BEG us to come back. It's not going to happen and I am stuck.
Thanks to all who replied, it was entertaining at least.

 | There are satellite TV alternatives that are available to most people throughout USA, including Chattanooga. So Comcast does not have a monopoly in providing TV channel service.
I like my triple play Comcast service very much, and I highly recommended it to others. But it's quite apparent that you're very miserable with Comcast, to the point of posting numerous times about it on this and Comcast HSI boards (with very few others from your area, if any, posting about the same issues). And I think you'll never be satisfied with them no matter what they do.
So. if you are so miserable with Comcast, then don't patronize them. Go with DSL and Satellite TV service. They, like Comcast, have great promotional offers for new customers. I checked the Bellsouth web site, and they're offering a package service that includes DirectTV Satellite service in Chattanooga. |

I'm not really miserable more just angry. It's really only been the last 4-6 weeks. A lot of outages and this channel lineup. I think I was so used to things never going wrong for about 7 years I just came to think of the service as having to be perfect. That was probably silly.
I'm glad you reminded me of those packages bellsouth & directTV offer. I am going to check those out in just a few minutes.
Your reply sorta made me snap back to reality. Thanks. |

 | By the way, I like your Braves avatar. I've been pleasantly surprised how the Braves have done so far. But I'm disappointed that WTBS and FOXSouth (formerly Turner South) discontinued their HD broadcast of home games this year. |

Don't ever bother watching a regular FOX or FosSports broadcast because the camera work is terrible. "Line drive, could be a double, we'll see the replay in a min...if we have time left in this inning"
TurnerSouth and TBS are Uber Best at broadcasting games. Sorry those were stolen from you. |

No cablebox, but tvgude and comcast's own tvguide is now starting to show correct lineups.
tvguide and cspan2 are GONE now. Smooth move comcrap.
I guess those 2 channels [1 is free] costs comcrap too much to carry anymore? |

Also, you can't get the local reps name so if a problem happens - you can't have a meaningful discussion about the problem. Also, there is so much variety in the different locales - the national folks have no clue whats going on. Idiots was perhaps too strong a term. |
