[ Express] Speed Increases?

I mentioned in a previous post I was thinking about upgrading to Express. Well, I did, and I've been noticing the speed seems to be higher than advertised; not that I'm complaining, mind you.

So I gave tech support a call, he checked my billing and modem profiles: they're both set to Express, but apparently the modem's been provisioned for 7Mbps and the upload has increased, too (I've been getting ~460kbps).

He said he'd been getting calls all morning about it. Anyone else notice this? Is this becoming official?

with extreme i topped out at 750 kbps. that was the pre-throttling days. however, i can still hit about 600 kbps on certain sites. of course no upload. 460 seems about normal for a 5mbps line.

Pretty sure he means 460 upload. Express upload is (or was) set at 384.

Yep, I meant upload.

So no one else has heard anything about this, or experienced it? Replies seem lackluster.

It'd be nice if these were the new speeds.

My speeds increased as well. I just rebooted the SB5120 modem and voila, the new speeds

Edit: I'm on the express profile as well.

Me too. On Express. The test I took just before power cycling was 4800/384. Why don't they inform us of this stuff?

I just reset my modem and I'm seeing it as well. My upload speeds have always been below par (around 260-280kbps) thow, but now it's ... almost at what the "old" express ul rate should of been .

I just reset my modem and got these results. I was getting the advertised Extreme speeds before.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Just rebooted my modem, and the Guelph area seems to have gotten the speed boost as well (for the extreme profile at least) - hope it lasts...

I am on Extreme at my house - had a strange problem this morning - Internet worked but DNS didn't. I rebooted the modem and was surprised to see downloading at 7.3 mbps ! Just tested again this evening and still getting the faster dl!

It appears that the new extreme profile is 9000/800

Hmm... I'm wonder if that speedtest.net test is accurate since everyone else is reporting 7500
