Isn't this what killed @HOME?

@Home was a fairly good service provider. They decided they wanted to be a content provider as well so they bought Excite. @Home then went bankrupt.

Granted Comcast is pulling in record profits from their "triple play" promotions, but at some point if you keep acquiring other companies (especially ones no one uses) you will run out of capital.

Well, too bad it's not hurting them in the stocks department. I keep making money off of their stocks...

well it is official Comcast is dead

it is 100% GUARANTEED!

how do I know this

it is simple I am an ISP KILLER

my first ISP was through a university....they no longer have that service

my next ISP was the free one that came before NetZreo....I used them when my school ISP was too crowded...and I hacked the ad bar away......that company died right as netzero was somehow pulling cash to get started

so I went with Netzero.....they went bankrupt

I had Bluelight also for a bit....they went under (and Kmart too)

then I got went BIGTIME and got Sprint Ion....they ditched it even though I still think it was the best ISP I ever had....I even got money from them for dropping me....crazie!...I still have my hub

then I went with Direct TV DSL.....right when I found out I had to drop them they dropped the service....I can't remember if I had to pay them to drop or I got out of it because they dropped DSL right after I canceled.....but I did keep the modem when I found out they were out of the DSL game

at the same time I had ION and then Direct TV I worked for @Home doing support.....DEAD!

when I moved I had Cox cable.....Cox sold my area to Suddenlink right after I moved houses and ditched Cox....I still think Cox might have an "Adelphia" moment or they might get out of cable and sell to someone who will probably go under....and I think Suddenlink could have their day in chapter something also

and just recently I did a quicky sting doing support for Comcast

so to keep score

3 dialup killed

2 DSL killed

1 Cable killed

1 Cable sold off (and I think the former and current owners are due for their "Adelphia" syndrom")

and I just did time for Comcast

and now Comcast is on a crap buying spree....like @Home as someone correctly pointed out

content, browsers, locker space, fancy email, security suites, expanded support for non-ISP provided equipment, and any other BS is DEATH for an ISP!

What else does Nokia make?

I can not think of one other thing right off the top of my head.

Re: Isn't this what killed @HOME?

@Home paid $11 billion for Excitedotcom.

Wonder where Excite goes?

I know some company bought them for like $100 million.
