Re: Need CPU HSF to fit an Apevia X-QPACK case

I hope you aren't using the power supply that came with that case, that is a TERRIBLE brand.

well if you have the new heat sinks that have the copper pipes running through it you should be fine with it unless that is still to big for you or to loud ill put up a few that will hopefully fit your needs

these are just examples and it seems a lot of the low profile HS are sold out but i would look for a all copper or at least one with a copper base and pair it up with some AS5 and you will be good to go.companies to look at are zalman, thermaltake, artic cooling

The cooling on these cases are pretty good actually, despite its size. The stock exhaust fan (120 mm) is not quiet but it moves the air. I usually replace then with this »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···35186008
The Power supply is not in the way because the CPU sits almost in the center of the case on a Micro-ATX board. The problem comes when the brace for the case (located midway on the case and below the 120mm fan) could affect HSF that are tall.

That's a snazzy lookin case!

is the stock rear 120mm fan quiet? Where does your cpu sit in relation to the case? Is the power supply getting in the way? I would say try to find one of the side mounted HSFs, as the height should be a bit lower.

Sorry I'm not of more help, but wanted to compliment the case. I was thinking of building one of these for a DVR. From the ones I've seen, they produce quite the heat.

Good luck

I've built about (3) systems with this case (»www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···11144160) but have always used the stock HSF.

Now I'm building another system and "quiet" is the key word, but I can't seem to find a HSF that will fit.
My processor is AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz

Does anyone have this case? what did you use to cool your CPU?
...oh, I'm trying to stay below the $50 mark on a HSF
