Hah! Nope.

The nearest TV station to us is in Santa Rosa, 70 miles south (most of the channels come out of SF, 100 miles south), all the signals here are broadcast from a repeater on Spanish Mountain. There is a grad, hunkin' total of 3 locals available here, on Directv we get 25 locals No thanks, I'll stick with my Directv

Edit-Our locals come out of the SF Bay Area.

Your case certainly qualifies as the exception to the rule here! However I wonder if your community would consider adding channels to your repeater to cover the new ATSC channels. I'm guessing that your cable provider has long since assimilated the original CATV system, but your public safety agencies might still want a backup to cable, considering the seismic activity and the terrorist threat. In fact, there might be Homeland Security and/or FEMA money available to help pay for upgrades.

When the terrorists take out our cable TV, that is when they'll really have gotten us.

And that's why you have satellite. You live in the sticks.

OTA is not great for mountain areas, either. Southern california is a horrible place for off-air reception. There are lots of people who CAN and do get it, mind you, but it's extremely hit and miss.

No, actually we're in the Oak, Pine, Redwood, Fir, Cottonwood, Madrone, Manzanita and Vineyards

We do have cable tv available from Comcast (formerly Adelphia here), but only have them for HSI, Directv is much better.
