| | No Thanks I'll Stick to a company who doesn't sell my information or freely hands it over to the government. Call me archaic but I like having privacy. God knows ATT doesn't know the meaning of that one... Anyone using ATT should realize your information is data mined. Your browsing habits.... You phone records... All data mined by the NSA and the Government. Why does that worry me? Well call me practical, but who knows who sees that data and how it's used. How would you like your next job to include:
So John Smith:
We did a background check and got your Browsing records:
I see you've looked up Male on Male porn or Lesbian Porn. That type of behavior isn't wanted in our company.
Or More practical. I see you typically buy from Newegg or Tiger Direct.. etc... You wish to work for our company but do not use our services? How can we trust you will be a loyal employee..
Sound far fetched? I don't think so... Whenever data is collected or mind, prying eyes get to see it and you are at the mercy of the people on the other end. Just as you go out to eat and hope your waitress doesn't rip off your credit card number, you are at the Gov's mercy they arent using that data / selling it...Once again, say what you want, but I tend to avoid companies I know blatantly take my privacy and good will for granted.

It doesn't matter what the company is if they (NSA) want the info they can get, legally or illegally. And if you believe for one minute that your info is safe just because you have somebody other than at&t you need to pull your head out of your ass. There isn't a damn thing in any country that is private anymore. Do I like that? Hell no. But I know it is the way it is and there is no way to turn back from that now. -- In need of a Vegas vacation.

| | | Re: No Thanks Conspiracy? No, those are something that are NOT TRUE. I consider employees substantiating the fact
1) ATT Data mines / Collects your reocrds 2) NSA having to admit to said program 3) Bush refusing to answer much on the subject 4) Articles by major news agencies
Ample proof this company is NOT TO BE TRUSTED.... Maybe instead of shooting down what people say, you should better EDUCATE yourself. Obviously, this is no conspiracy theory. It's 100 percent rooted in FACT!

I said it is going to happen no matter who or what service you have. If you think you can have any service that they keep your info 100% to themselves then you are the one who needs to get an education. -- In need of a Vegas vacation.

| | | 1 edit | Re: No Thanks Wow I don't list my location? Want a Cookie? Maybe that's my prerogative.. Educate yourself and define that word. Better yet, talk about lazy, I'll go ahead and give you the definition. It means it's MY CHOICE.... Maybe I don't feel like broadcasting my location to the world...However, Captain Obvious, I am fully aware my IP Address fully discloses my location....Got to love proxies.
As for companies that keep your information safe, I am very happy with my ISP Time Warner. They told the NSA to go "F*ck" themselves.... So that's my kind of ISP.
On the other hand, enjoy ATT... I don't like big brother in my life... but obviously you guys do. That is your prerogative too...Yet, don't come crying in 50 years when we have no rights as people like you refuse to moan and bitch now. It's why this administration gets away with murder. People would rather sit complacent than open their eyes and demand more protections.....Truly Un-American behavior

Or that you somehow slow the process down even? lol, if they want the information, they'll get it one way or another, despite which company you think is better at protecting your privacy.
You need to take a big gulp of reality. The world is changing. It is more unsafe than ever before, and while I may not like that the government has access to whatever records or history of whatever I do, it's a fact of life. I can't change it and you can't change it.
