CableToolPoorly Representing MYSELF.Premium join:2004-11-12 | reply to Jon It isnt true for cable either, but you will here people say it all the time and its a closed system. Dish is susceptible to rain fade, its a fact. Cable is susceptible to squirrel chew.
They both have their Achilles heels.
So for some customers "every time it rains" IS true. -- CableFAQ.org/Technicians Unplugged

fiberguyMy views are my own.Premium join:2005-05-20 kudos:3 | reply to Jon Back when I was a DBS dealer, we were required to pull in a minimum signal of 80 to 85% strength overall. No going through trees, and no 'suspect' line of site. The dish providers realized how many customers were being told it was a "no - go " and how quickly that changed. Now you see systems pointing through trees, near other buildings, and signals as low as 70 or less... So, the dishes are generally more so subject to rain fade in a lot of cases these days because of the lower standards on a qualified installation. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-reitchous and lazy..." |

Yes I should have added the "With a quality installation" part. No service will work well if the installation sucks. |
