Mount Airy, MD | Long Distance Service What an antiquated, 20th century concept... the idea that you should have to pay more for a call simply because it is outside of your local calling area.
I suppose an even worse concept is the intra-LATA toll calls for which Verizon loves to charge an arm and a leg (even more expensive than old "long distance service").
How long has it been since most cell phone providers removed the distinction between local, intra-LATA and long distance calls? Wow... we've sure come a long way.
