I noticed this charge on my bill yesterday.
I keep the most basic service with Verizon (for DSL) because I use Vonage as my main line.
The basic service is only supposed to be $12.00 a month but with all the taxes and fees it clears $17.00 a month.
The charge was $2.19 because they also added FUS.

1 edit | Thats weird because I asked them numerous time's and they said I need to keep phone service?
Guess I will be making a call later today.
EDIT: Got my Dry Loop Service |

| I could, but the landline is utterly reliable, which is more than I can say for Roadrunner. Even though my T-Mo phone gets full reception at my house, I don't think I'd want to rely completely on it. Sadly my cell phone is actually cheaper than my landline-- it's a prepaid.
I use the phone very little outside of work. I suppose you could call part of that 120% tax a peace-of-mind fee, because AFAIK, my phone line has had 100% uptime for the past 10+ years. -- Think outside the fox...Seamonkey |
