Cable modem receive light constantly blinks

The receive light on my cable modem constantly blinks, even when my computer is turned off.

The computer is hooked straight up to the modem, and modem straight to outlet.

Is this normal, or is something wrong?

Don't get me wrong, my service is working fine with speeds above the rated speed I signed up for, but I was just wondering if this is a problem.
