Re: There's a reason democracies can only last for so long This kind of privacy violation was specifically outlawed. National security can not be used as a trump card for every action. If you let it, then the government can do ANYTHING and cite national security. Our government derives its authority from our votes and laws passed by those we elected. National security is a valid interest, but the means used to pursue it must be authorized by the people. |
