It does not end the data session when you get a call. The call goes to voice mail. It tells you calls can't be received when in datamode when you connect it to your PC and go with the modem mode. Maybe it's just my model/brand of phone that does this. I've used Vision phones in the past and remember it doing the same thing. Some of the older EVDO phones do send the call to voicemail instead of ending the data call. Most newer phones (or PPC devices) will now end the data call so that your call can get through. Personally, I am not sure how I feel about this "upgrade" given that if you are in the middle of a video stream or using a VPN your connection gets the boot when a call comes in! At the end of the day YMMV based on the phone you have.

| Too bad it's not a "option" that the customer can modify. When I had the 7300 (sister to the 7500) I was able to get into the "speed" settings and bump up the default 144kps to 230. Some features, like "do not disturb" while on a data call would be nice..  |

| The new firmware for all WM5 phones automatically ends the data call. If you buy any PPC phone these days you have no choice. I personally would rather have the option to chose, but hey, some things are already "decided" for us these days.
