All for our benefit of course. As a conservative I have to ask you: What gives you the right to trade my liberties for such a benefit. I don't remember agreeing to that bargain. You are, of course, free to trade whatever of yours you choose in exchange for whatever sense of safety it give you. You aren't free to make such decisions for hundreds of millions of other american citizens. I would expect a conservative to understand this.
You have an extremely schizophrenic view of government. One minute you insist government can't be trusted to impose a penny tax on a pack of bubble gum, next minute you sound prepared to let it plant surveillance devices up your backside if it is so inclined.
I'm sure you'll be back to your distrust after the next presidential election and suddenly rediscover your lost belief in limited government. There is nothing like not being in control of government to reinvigorate one's distrust of it. |
