Too bad it's not a "option" that the customer can modify. When I had the 7300 (sister to the 7500) I was able to get into the "speed" settings and bump up the default 144kps to 230. Some features, like "do not disturb" while on a data call would be nice..
The new firmware for all WM5 phones automatically ends the data call. If you buy any PPC phone these days you have no choice. I personally would rather have the option to chose, but hey, some things are already "decided" for us these days. -- я люблю Денди!
